Petco just wants to see the dead fish and the receipt to confirm you. Carry your receipt to exchange your product which should be in the original condition. Petco recommends that all new live fish invertebrates be quarantined for 14 days. If you visit the stores after 60 days you will receive the return in the form of store credit. If they come back as a non properly established tank they can technically deny you the refund saying it s your fault the fish died. Returns or refunds cannot be offered on live fish invertebrates that you decide you do not want.
